Launching WIDI VST Plugin in Steinberg Cubase
Cubase is a well-known music production application from Steinberg Media Technologies (www.steinberg.net).
| Step-by-step instructions:
| 1. | Make sure there is at least one non-empty Audio track in the project.
| 2. | Create a new MIDI track in the project ("Project"->"Add Track"->"MIDI").
| 3. | Open Audio Track Properties with the "e" button:
| 4. | Select "widi_vst" as an output to the Audio Track by clicking mouse in a free slot:
| 6. | Open Option page of the plugin and make sure that "MIDI TO VST HOST" output method is active.
| 7. | Show MIDI Track Properties by selecting MIDI Track with a mouse click.
| 8. | Select "widi_vst" in the list of MIDI inputs of the MIDI Track:
Now the Plugin's MIDI output is routed to the selected MIDI track, and you can use usual Cubase commands to sound it or record to it.
| You can also redirect MIDI output to a MIDI Out Device or even record it to a file with a built-in MIDI recorder. See routing MIDI for details.
