Note Filter

The Note Filter dialog allows you to select notes that satisfy a certain criterion. The necessary attributes are chosen by flagging the corresponding check-box. You may select several conditions together.

The Note Filter is brought up by clicking on the Select button on the Selection tool panel, or by selecting the "Selection->Select..." menu item.

Attributes

The left column of check-boxes allows setting of the following attributes for matching:

Time - note time range,

Key - note pitch range,

Channel - MIDI channels of the note,

Volume - note loudness,

Duration - note duration,

Track - note MIDI track,

Patch - note musical instrument.

The lower limit of every range is indicated in the From field, and the upper limit in the To field.

The flag Not allow you to invert the condition, all notes except matching specified range will meet the rule.

Action

Select - Allows you to select notes satisfying the criterion; with this option previously selected notes are discarded.

Add to selection - Add notes which satisfy the criterion to previously selected notes.

Narrow selection - Selects notes satisfying the criterion among previously selected notes only.

Focus on Selection - Automatically positions TrueTone Editor window at the start or end of the selection – depending on the settings chosen on Focusing tab of TrueTone Editor Options dialog.

The Presets field lets you save filter settings for re-use. The setup file of the filter note dialog has a .wnef file extension. See Saving Settings for details.

OK button performs selection upon chosen criteria, Cancel closes Note Filter. Clear clears all criteria, Help invokes this page of help file.
