Setting MIDI Options

In the MIDI Options tab of the Recognition Settings dialog you can set various parameters of the output MIDI file such as tempo, tonality, meter and instrument that will be assigned to MIDI notes.

The only important setting affecting recognition is Determine Key Automatically. If this is on, WIDI attempts to autodetect tonality of the piece. It can affect recognition results if Use Determined Key is turned on in Equalizer and Scale mask is not flat.

Tempo parameter does affect default bar line placement, because if no bars are set manually, MIDI file will be written with uniformly placed bars corresponding to the selected tempo. Bar lines can be placed manually or by using Tapping tool.
