Entering Registration Code
Usually you get you registration code via email. It consists of two strings - user name and code itself. It looks approximately like this:
Regname: John Smith
Note: This is not a valid registration code, and code format may differ.
You should copy registration code to the Registration dialog. Start WIDI and then press Enter Code button in the start-up dialog. It is strongly recommended to use Copy and Paste to copy user name and code from the email to avoid any misspellings.
After filling in the code and name press OK. Activation dialog will appear.
Activation is a process of authorizing a particular copy of WIDI. It is accomplished by sending your registration information and unique computer ID to the WIDISOFT server and getting back an Activation Code. Activation Code is different from the Registration Code and you only get it as a result of Activation process.
Information entered in Registration dialog is automatically copied to the User Name and Registration Code fields. Enter your email address in the Email field. If Send me update information via email checkbox is set, you will occasionally (no more than a few times per year) receive email notifications about WIDI updates.
Proceed with activation.Online activates WIDI directly, but it requires WIDI to access Internet, your firewall should be configured not to block it. In Browser opens activation page on the WIDISOFT website. Via Email generates text you need to sent by email to get activation code.
It is recommended to use Online activation whenever possible, and use In Browser in other cases. Only use Via Email as a last resort if nothing else succeeds. Please note that it may take up to a few days to complete email activation. Email activation allows you to activate WIDI copy set up on a computer that has no access to the Internet.
Use Enter Activation Code button to enter activation code if you selected In Browser or Via Email activation type.
Message about successful activation or the failure reason is displayed at the bottom of the "Activate" section.
Restart WIDI when activation succeeds. Registration allows saving MIDI files of unlimited length and removes the startup banner. To check registration status after restarting WIDI, choose "Help->Register!" menu item - registered version should say "Already Registered".
